Child Development Inc. is a multi-funded program that provides Head Start, PA PreK Counts and child care.  It operates eight centers throughout Schuylkill County. The Keystone STARS program is a voluntary quality rating system in Pennsylvania. Early learning programs participating in Keystone STARS earn a quality rating score from STAR 1 to STAR 4. All eight of Child Development, Inc.’s centers have earned the highest quality designation award – STAR 4.

“We are happy to be able to support Child Development Inc.,” said Carol Obando-Derstine, regional affairs director at PPL. “At PPL, we are always looking for ways to help the quality of life in the communities we serve. It’s the right thing to do and it’s the right way to do business.”

The EITC program provides tax credits to eligible businesses that contribute to an approved scholarship organization, an Educational Improvement Organization or a pre-kindergarten scholarship organization.  Child Development, Inc. is approved by the state Department of Community and Economic Development as a pre-k scholarship organization.
